G’day and well met from Australia!

While I (Farseer) am well known to most users of the forums, especially after having helped Mervi with mod duties for the last twelve months, I am new to the ‘main news page’ side of things and so thought a quick introduction may be in order. From now on, I will be helping with updates on here, as well as within the forums, so you will see me here from time-to-time. That all having been said, onward to the updates…

Following their previous release of the prologue for City of Dragons, the upcoming third Rain Wild Chronicles novel, HarperVoyager has recently posted a follow-up pdf file of the first chapter.

Also, over on HarperCollins, you can now browse through City of Dragons, previewing snippets up to the end of the third chapter, as well as other goodies.

HarperVoyager has posted a PDF file of the prologue for the upcoming third Rain Wild Chronicles novel City of Dragons. So head over to their site to have your sample of what’s to come!

City of Dragons, the third part of Rain Wild Chronicles will be published as a hardcover edition in the US in February and in the UK in April. For the first time, both editions will feature the same cover art by Jackie Morris, the US on a golden background and the UK one on a green. Robin will also do a US book tour in February, check the cities in the side bar on the left and visit robinhobb.com for more details.

Upcoming special edition of the Inheritance

Subterranean Press (the publication company behind A Fantasy Medley) have announced they will release a special limited edition of the Inheritance and Other Stories later this year. This will be a edition of 1000 signed copies, 800 of them cloth bound copies with the trade edition dust jacket and 200 leatherbound copies, with a different dust jacket and exclusive full-color endsheets. The dust jacket and interior illustrations will be done by Tom Kidd. You can preorder the book already and if you preorder before ~~May 13^th~~ (extend until May 20^th), you’ll get a discount. Reindeer People + Wolf's Brother available again

UK reprints of a classic Megan Lindholm tale, the two-part The Reindeer People / Wolf’s Brother, were officially published today—although some early copies were already available in Supanova earlier this month.

I’ve probably forgot to post this here : Publisher’s Weekly gave a starred review for the Inheritance and Other Stories! More recently, the Australian Herald Sun published an article about Robin/Megan and the French Wikinews posted an interview done at Trolls&Legends in Belgium (try a translation).
Also a new addition to the appearances calendar, the Garfield Book Company in Tacoma, WA announced they’ve booked Robin to appear for a signing—the date is May 18^th at 7pm.
It’s less than a week to the US publication of The Inheritance! Have you preordered your copy yet?

What with Robin doing a lot of touring and the UK and US release dates for the Inheritance being so close to each other, there’s a lot of buzz for the book online right now. Here are links for you to enjoy—let me know in the comments what I missed!

Robin Hobb is in Belgium this weekend

Robin Hobb will be attending the Trolls & Legends festival in Mons, Belgium from April 22^nd to 24^th. This year’s theme at the festival is dragons!
Also attending will be Laurent Sieurac who illustrated the first two parts of the Farseer graphic novel adaptation and Gilles Francescano, a French illustrator for many Robin Hobb book covers.

US launch for the Inheritance

Some of you might remember the virtual cage matches Suvudu.com organised last year—it’s where fantasy heroes battle one another until one final winner is left standing. Warriors paperback coming in August

The Triumph, one of the most recent Robin Hobb stories to be published appeared in March 2010 in an anthology titled Warriors. The original hardback contains 20 brand new stories from authors such as Tad Williams, Peter S. Beagle, Naomi Novik, Diana Gabaldon, George R. R. Martin and many others. The paperback edition will be split in three (visit the wiki page for publishing information) and Robin’s story will be in the third volume, Warriors 3, set to be published August 2^nd 2011.

Robin just posted an update on her official site telling that what was planned to be the third book in the Rain Wild Chronicles (which so far consist of Dragon Keeper and Dragon Haven) will also be split in two like the first part. She also mentions some old friends that are returning to the story—hop over to her site if you’re curious to find out who!
