Strays

Strays is a short story first published in the Warrior Princesses anthology. It is contemporary fantasy about a kid with the self-appointed name Queen of Strays who spends her time spray-painting the outlines of alley cats hit by cars, avoiding her mother's abusive boyfriend and being loved only by the stray cats she cares for.
