Memory stone is black, and often finely veined with white or silver threading. It was used by the [[Elderling]]s to build roads, buildings, cities and [[Skill-pillar]]. There is a [[stone quarry]] beyond the [[Mountain Kingdom]], but there might be other sources for the stone as well. Along the [[Rain Wild River]] there are beaches of [[memory sand]] which probably are of the same origin as the memory stone.

Those proficient with the [[Skill]] feel their consciousness pulled into the stone but only if the stone has memories in it already (Fitz could not walk along the Skill road as it had been walked many times before by Elderlings, who we are to believe are very proficient in the Skill, and yet when in the quarry of Memory Stone, Fitz felt no pull)

For all intents and purposes, Althea grew up on the [[Vivacia]] and fully expected to be named its captain upon her father's death, but she found that [[Ronica]] intended for [[Vivacia]] to be given to [[Keffria]]'s husband [[Kyle]], who had been acting as captain.

Althea is a longtime friend of the liveship [[Paragon]], whom she first met as a little girl.

The Queen's Garden is located at the top of one of [[Buckkeep]]'s circular towers. The walls of the garden where high on the sides that faced the sea and low where they faced inland. The garden is usually filled with potted plants, rock basins and bird baths.

In the times before [[Queen Constance]] died, it was used as an area for the residing Queen and her ladies in waiting to relax and tend to the greenery that grew there.

While [[Queen Desire]] reigned, the garden fell into disarray and was rarely used except when [[Galen]] chose the area to hold his [[Skill]] lessons.

When [[Queen Kettricken]] came to [[Buckkeep]], the garden was returned to its former use but with a new mountain theme to it.

One of the advantages of the garden is that it is completely secure from the eyes and ears of any spys that may try to observe any happening that may go on in the garden

She was a noble lady from [[Shoaks]] who also had relatives in [[Bearns]]. According to Lady [[Patience]], she was a queen that spurred others to action, and especially women. Half of the guard was female during her reign. She died of a birth fever with her infant daughter.
