'''Jeppas''' are animals native to more remote parts of the [[Mountain Kingdom]]. They do not mind snow or cold, and they feed by browsing rather than grazing and are surefooted like goats so they are favoured as pack animals in the mountains instead of horses. They do not make good mounts however, as they are too narrow to straddle comfortably and are skittish when carrying anything live. They have hairy ears and paws instead of hooves and made [[Fitz]] think of long-necked goats. They have a really strong herd instinct, and as long as one hast control of the leader, the others will follow. [[Kettricken]] brought six of these animals along on the quest to find [[Verity]] and they all survived the hazardous journey from [[Jhaampe]] to the [[stone quarry]].
