A woman who was bonded to a hind called [[Parela]]. Two years before [[Fitz]] and [[Nighteyes]] came to stay by [[Black Rolf]] to learn the ways of the [[Old Blood]], she slipped through the ice into [[Marple Bond]]. She would have died, but instead clung to her companion's spirit, and ever after lived within her body. She didn't let Parela live the normal life of a deer, refusing her to answer to calling mates and influencing even the way she moved. Black Rolf showed them to Fitz as an example of what not to do when either one of the would eventually die.
