The room that Fitz is given in the Buckkeep castle has a tall window with poorly fitting shutters, a bed and a clothing chest made of cedar wood. Above the hearth there is a faded tapestry of King Wisdom treating with an Elderling. There is a concealed door in the wall that opens to stairs within the walls that lead to Chade's tower room.

After the Red Ship War and the assumed death of Fitz, the room was left unused, and folk believe it is haunted.
