'''Garetha ''' is a orchard girl and then a garden woman in [[Buckkeep]], and about the same age as [[Fitz]]. She has freckles in her face and arms. Her hair used to be the colour of clean straw but has darkned to light brown. She is the only person in Buckkeep who Buckkeep who recognizes [[the Fool]] under under [[Lord Golden]]'s exterior. As the Fool puts it, she was infatuated with the King's fool and still harbours some fondness for him. She keeps his secret, but lets the Fool know she has recognized him by sending him flowers the colour of his old winter motley. When the Fool plans his departure from the keep to the [[Out Islands]], he arranges a cottage and a plot of earth for Garetha to call her own as well as the coin to keep herself well.
