Talk:Dragon Keeper

I think eventually we will have two separate pages for both titles, like we have for the Reindeer People and Wolf's Brother (which have a very similar publishing history). But for now I thought it was best to keep it all in one page so the information is easy to find. Any thoughts on this? --Mervi 09:05, 2 April 2009 (UTC)

I made quick redirects so that both "The Dragon Keeper" and "Dragon Haven" redirect to this article. We still need to decide how to name this article and whether to keep the two volumes in the same article or make separate ones and then redirect the redirects ;) accordingly. I just wanted to make sure the links work properly right now. --Mervi 11:23, 28 May 2009 (UTC)

Here's a quick list of the dragon keepers and their dragons for anyone wanting to start articles:

Keeper's name - dragon's name and/or features

  • Thymara - Sintara/Skymaw, blue female with silver markings on her wings (once the serpent Sisarqua)
  • Tats - Fente, green female
  • Rapskal - Heeby, red female
  • Greft - Kalo, big black male
  • Kase - orange
  • Boxter - orange
  • Sylve - Mercor, gold male with blue-white throat
  • Jerd - Veras, green female with gold stippling
  • Alum -
  • Nortel - lavender male
  • Warken -
  • Harrikin -
  • Lecter - large blue male (both the dragon and the keeper have spikes on their necks)

+

  • the silver one
  • the copper (brown) one, female

Additional notes:

  • Ranculos is scarlet
  • Mercor is a golden male and the sides of his neck have subtle mottling "where he might have carried false-eyes in his serpent days" and solid black eyes. I think we can be pretty sure that he was once Maulkin. For the rest of them, I think everything is pure speculation until Robin says otherwise and/or Dragon Haven tells us more.

I decided to split the article since no one had objected or commented. ;) I'm also wondering if it would be a good idea to avoid big spoilers (like who are the old friends we meet and the main plot points) at least until the US edition comes out in January. Any thoughts? -- Mervi 23:42, 3 September 2009 (UTC)

I just noticed that the online preview of the US edition lists a "Cast of Characters" (click on "Table of Contents" and then "Other back matter") and some dragon names are listed that I don't think were mentioned in the first volume. --Mervi 15:29, 30 January 2010 (UTC)
