Avoin

The Bresinga huntsmaster

Avoin is huntsmaster to the Bresinga family of Galekeep, near Galeton in Buck Duchy. He is a native of the Galeton region. Avoin is a tall, earnest man with a tendency to hunch his shoulders forward as he speaks.

He is an expert on the subject of hunting with cats. As the Bresinga family are keen hunters with cats, Avoin is able to follow his chosen subject and put his knowledge to use in the service of the noble family.

Expertise

Avoin is an expert in working with hunting cats; he possesses deep knowledge of their history, breeding, training, care, and use as hunting animals. In his early years, he was drawn to use a cat as a hunting animal.

The great expense involved in the importing of gruepards from Chalced and the Sandsedge regions of Farrow inspired Avoin to develop a technique for catching and taming the ealynex, a breed of cat native to Buck. Working with his uncle, Avoin captured two ealynex cats, and went on to pioneer their use as a hunting animal.

Avoin has a lifelong passion for his area of expertise, and enjoys passing on the lore he has gathered. Given the opportunity, he will talk endlessly about his subject, past the point at which his listeners lose interest.
